Regional History
The Dawson-Boyd Robotics Team competed for the first time in 2016 at the Lake Superior Regional in Duluth, Minnesota. The team then competed at the Lake Superior Regional every season until 2022. In 2023, however, the team competed at the Great Northern Regional in Grand Forks, North Dakota instead.
In 2020, the team was scheduled to compete at both the Lake Superior and Minnesota 10,000 Lakes Regional, but was unable to compete at 10,000 Lakes due to COVID-19 Pandemic cancellations. In 2022, the team, for the first time, successfully attended more than one regional in one season; we competed at the Lake Superior Regional and the Minnesota North Star Regional in Minneapolis. |

Rhinos and RabbitsOriginally, the team was named the RoboRhinos, but in 2017, during the 2018 season, we changed our name to the Blackjacks--and our mascot to the rabbits--to match other actives at Dawson-Boyd High School. This changed allowed for better community recognition and support. Another option for a team name that was not used was the RoboRabbits.
